What We Believe

Victory Media Inc. was built on a foundation of loyalty, integrity and respect and we hold these tenets close as we develop successful, lasting relationships with our clients.

We believe in making business personal, never hesitating to challenge this wonderful, accessible digital age with some old-fashioned manners and values. We seek to solve problems and add value.

We specialize in aesthetic marketing, which has helped us nurture a rich understanding of your patients’ behaviours, preferences and tendencies. Our expertise lies in creating insightful, goal-driven marketing strategies for you… while you look after your patients.

And you should probably know…we believe in picking up the phone. Emojis. Learning from our mistakes. Challenging ourselves to learn every day. Unicorns. Serving and protecting what we care about. The power of our mothers’ kitchens. Chocolate is ruined by raisins. Hot drinks on cold days. Abs are great… but have you tried doughnuts? Wine. Long hugs. Wine. Quick cups of tea. Did we say wine? Leaving a little kindness wherever we go. Our vibe is totally attracting our tribe. Well-behaved women rarely make history. Wanderlust.

WHY Victory Media?
I started my journey with Victory Media intent on inspiring the world with beautiful things (only slightly ambitious). I’ve always dreamed of being a strong and savvy business woman and also of unearthing and nurturing incredible talents. It’s my greatest professional pleasure to work with and own this company. I love it. I love every person associated with it. I feel so fortunate to get to do something I love everyday, for clients I adore and with a team of women with whom I am deeply entrenched in sisterhood. I hope you will love doing business with us for many reasons…mostly I hope you find us genuine, dependable and smart. Really smart.

About me.
I’m a West Coast girl with deep love for big mountains and salty air. I studied at the University of Victoria but my more relevant alma matter is Cosmedica, where I grew into the world and life of aesthetic medicine quite honestly. I began in an entry level position and worked my way into Director of Communications over a tenure of about 10 years. I loved it there. With Victory Media, I’m very passionate about helping inspired physicians, practices, managers and teams realize beautiful, well-spoken brands and about providing them with unfailing, forward-thinking marketing support. I’ve grown up in this industry – it’s what I know.

Funny story…
I’ve had some interesting experiences in my life: I once drank Vodka and RedBull from the Stanley Cup (courtesy of Andrew Ladd of the 2006 Carolina Hurricanes). My now hubby and I lived in Lausanne, Switzerland for a year (one of the greatest years of my life). In another life, I was a FORD Model. I had this funny spell of success in my late teens and early 20s and was fortunate enough to work on amazing fashion and TV projects with some incredible photographers, stylists and artists. At 17, I landed myself a 7-Up commercial directed by John Frankenheimer. I almost hate to disclose it but it’s pretty funny so…search YouTube for “What would James Bond do?” The greatest thing I’ve ever done though, by far: marry my best friend and have the world’s coolest little babes – Gigi and Henry. You’ll hear me talk about them A LOT.

WHY Victory Media?
Victory is like a dream for me – the type you see when in an amazingly deep sleep but when you wake up it eludes you – as in “something this awesome could not actually exist in reality.” To be able to work on a team of such amazingly intelligent, creative and caring women… to be able to build strong and lasting relationships with clients… to translate their dreams and visions into tangible pieces. At the end of the day, we get to create beautiful things – whether it’s a creative piece, a problem solved or one more thread added in the fabric of our relationships, we all try to make life and business just that little bit lovelier. A dream, really. That is my “Why.”

About me.
I hail from the East (o.k., Ontario – not the real East Coast) and became a West Coast transplant when I moved to Vancouver to study Theology in 2011. I live for the outdoors (with sunscreen of course) and anything that involves activity, preferably outdoors. I studied Nursing at Queen’s University and am still a Registered Nurse – helpful when you work in a field that has a strong focus on medicine. I tend to speak a little too quickly when I get excited and on occasion will use an emoji in place of words to convey my point… I am working on curbing that. I love all things aesthetic and my bathroom cabinet will attest to that. I also absolutely adore the educational component of empowering our clients to help their patients invest in their own health and happiness – it’s a pretty fantastic cycle.

Funny story…
I appear to lean towards the girly side of life. I was however, a canoe tripper in Southern Ontario for 10 years and I still prefer life on the simpler side. As much as I adore Vancouver, I still prefer Ontario lakes to the ocean for swimming. West Coast sunsets do take the cake, though. I love to travel and have travelled more than my carbon footprint would like me to admit. I blame it on my mother. I swear I was meant to be born in Europe. I find kimchi can cure most of my problems and good conversations with close friends followed by a good bike ride around the seawall always help bring life back into perspective. I have a red-headed nephew that I am mildly obsessed with and if you have met me and I haven’t yet shown you a photo of him, then you can count yourself as one of the blessed few.

WHY Victory Media?
My work with Victory Media began on a serendipitous note. I was in the midst of pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications and looking to make a change after a successful tenure managing a respected medispa in Vancouver. My knowledge base as a medical aesthetician made Victory Media a perfect fit for my next career path in marketing. And now every day, I pinch myself as I get to work with the most inspiring, giving and incredibly intelligent women. The Victory Media culture is one of evolution, excellence and positivity – like no other I have experienced. Pair this with the innovative clinics we work with and you have a dream job. No joke.

About me.
I hail from Calgary where an early encounter with a dermatologist taught me the importance of protecting my skin from the dry prairie air. My first facial at 16 got me hooked on the beautiful world of skin health from which I have forged a 16-year career as a medical aesthetician. This wonderful vocation brought me to Vancouver and has nurtured my natural inclination towards wellness; I love living the active and healthy lifestyle that the West Coast culture affords. As the Social Media Director of Victory Media, I am passionate about the storytelling forum this communication medium affords us; educating patients on skin health issues and raising brand awareness for the exceptional practitioners we work with inspires me every day.

Funny story…
I believe in pushing myself to continually grow and this often means I do things that scare me a little. I have scaled down cliff-sides to find secret hot-springs, eaten gizzards in the name of culinary experience and practiced back-side 180s in the snowboard park. I’m one of those quiet types you would least expect this kind of stuff from (I blame my Dad who was a bit of a renaissance man). This spirit of adventure inspires my daily creative efforts and my endless pursuit for personal and professional excellence.

WHY Victory Media?
I stumbled upon this little gem unexpectedly and am SO STOKED I did. Victory has given me something I will forever be grateful for: a happy and healthy work environment. I can honestly say I love my job and absolutely adore the women I work with. We empower, uplift and support each other and our clients. I’ve learned so much about the skin care world, aesthetic medicine and how to be a better person, overall. We are all from different parts of Canada and have found our way to each other. We have something pretty special, I guess you could call us soul mates. I hope that’s what our clients feel when they join the family!

About me.
I’m from the capital but have never related to the term ‘city girl’. I’ve always been drawn to fresh country air and I now call the quaint little town of Brighton, home. I’m still a proud ‘glamper’ though! Getting into Graphic Design school at Algonquin College was a long shot for a girl who didn’t even know how to use Photoshop starting out. I taught myself, put together a portfolio and was accepted. I love creating beautiful pieces and this position allows me to do so every day. Puppies and pizza are the way to my heart and I love them equally. I also have a deep love of travel and I lived in Ireland for a time. I left a little piece of my heart there which returned home with me when my now-husband proposed there. Man, I love that guy! Beyond racking up our Avion points for our next trip, we live pretty simply. We have a little white home with black shutters and a golden retriever puppy named Murphy. We take advantage of the wine country close by, the Provincial Park down the street and we’ve become the best gym buddies. The newest addition to our little family is our beautiful baby boy Brady – we’re smitten, to say the least.

Funny story…
I’m someone who loses everything. Sometimes I find it two seconds later, sometimes I don’t. When I first interviewed with Victory, I shared a story of being pick-pocketed in Europe. I made a strong case: it was certainly not me who left my passport, Visa and debit card behind. Nope, I was robbed! Leaving the interview, Tara comes running out behind me carrying the purse I had left behind. Yup.

WHY Victory Media?
I feel like I’m one of the lucky ones. I wake up every morning, pour myself a cup of coffee (coffee first, always), and walk into my office genuinely excited to get to work. I spend my days working with passionate clients and incredible partners, but most of all, with the talented women who make up the Victory Media team. These beautiful ladies continuously inspire, teach, and motivate me, and—sometimes most importantly—keep me laughing on a daily basis. I feel so fortunate to have the privilege of doing something that I love, with co-workers that I call friends (sometimes while wearing my pyjamas – am I allowed to say that?).

About me.
Originally a small town girl, I now live in Canada’s capital city with my dreamboat husband, Sean. I moved to Ottawa for University, but this small-town-disguised-as-a-big-city ultimately won my heart (despite all the snow). I’ve had a longstanding love affair with words since the day I could string a sentence together, and I knew that one day this relationship would serve me well. Lo and behold, I’ve been in the marketing field since graduation day, and my time is largely spent dreaming up creative content and fulfilling my duties as Victory’s resident quality assurance queen. I love good books and trashy TV (looking for a “Friends” quote? I’m your gal), and I refuse to go anywhere without a snack in hand – a rule that is enforced by both my husband and my mother.

Funny story…
I’ve always said that my life can be summed up in a series of contradictions. I’m an introvert with more than a few extroverted tendencies. I prefer to be outdoors, but hate the cold, and I love being active despite my complete lack of athletic ability (though I am the proud winner of several father-daughter bowling tournaments, thank you very much). I regularly chase chocolate chip cookies with kale smoothies, and pair vegetables with craft beer. And of course, I love to travel—a backpacking trip in Europe and my honeymoon in Thailand are chart-toppers—but I not-so-secretly dream of living in a cul-de-sac populated by all of my very best friends.

WHY Victory Media.
To me, the real question is why not Victory Media? A group of loving, supporting, empowering, genius women who value skill and hard work just as much as they value family and fun (and did I mention they’re gorgeous AND hilarious… bonus!). I chose Victory not only because the people are amazing, but because their business ethics exceed standards. From day one, it was obvious to me that with every project they touch, they strive to convey confidence and self-love to the end consumer. It is a breath of fresh air to have a part in initiatives and work with practices that ultimately make people feel a little bit more awesome about themselves.

Also, you can be insanely silly with these ladies and they love it – so it’s really a win-win.

About me.
I am a Vancouver unicorn (as Sara likes to refer to me). Vancouver born and raised – and yes I do buy vegan granola bars, own about 18 pairs of lululemon “pants” for every occasion, and have complained about bike lanes once or twice… just incase you were wondering.

Believe it or not, I started my educational journey with an interest in science (what?!) until reality set in and I realized that I would likely spend most of my working life in a lab; so I quickly jumped ship to something a little more social. I ended up with a Bachelors in Business Administration majoring in Marketing Management right here in Raincouver, and I loved every minute of it (okay maybe not those early morning macro/micro economics courses). Once out of school, I found myself immersed in a world of website analytics, pay-per-click ad management, SEO, and digital design – a fine line between numbers and creativity – and I somehow felt right at home.

On a more personal side, when I have a few spare minutes I seriously enjoy attempting to bake delicious cakes and DIY’ing household things (keyword being “attempt”). But scratch all of that if there is a glass of wine and good company around (or a caesar… I’m not picky).

Funny story…
Our dog, Moose, wears pyjamas and he absolutely loves them. And i’ll be honest, when I was considering which breed of dog to adopt, the fact that this breed is known to wear pyjamas (seriously, it’s a thing) was when I threw my hands up. Not one day goes by where I don’t see someone laugh or smile at him when we’re out for a walk. I get a kick out of seeing other people enjoy how silly he looks just as much as I do.

WHY Victory Media?
From the minute I interviewed with Victory, I knew I wanted to be part of this team of strong, creative, and talented women who not only provide caring support for their clients, but also for each other. Their positive vibes drew me in from the start, and their daily kindness and humour make me so happy to wake up and contribute to this work every day. I’m grateful to have such stellar role models to guide me!

About me.
I’m originally from the small town of Brighton, Ontario, but I now call a cozy, succulent-filled 2 bedroom apartment in Ottawa—where I spend my days drinking endless cups of tea while using the best of my creative genes for Victory—home. I’ve fallen in love with the buzz of the ByWard Market, both for a Saturday night drink or a Sunday morning stroll.

I’m the youngest of five daughters. This means I essentially grew up with four extra mothers (who still audit my social media on the reg). Growing up, it was a house filled with missing hair elastics and “borrowed” clothes. Having four sisters becomes pretty ingrained in your identity – it’s a big part of how I see myself. But the opportunity to invest in my individual talents and pave my own way has been an exciting thing. I’m on the path to independence! It just so happens that that path has led me back into a tight group of ladies!

Funny story…
Coming from a small town has its perks. There’s not much traffic, and you happen to hear a lot of news through the ol’ grapevine. In this particular case, it really worked in my favour! I’m not sure if it was through my older sister’s high school friend, or if my aunt told my Mom, but I somehow heard that Kelcey (Victory’s Senior Graphic Designer) was working in my hometown of Brighton and killing it as a graphic designer. A couple of messages and Earl Grey teas later, here I am!

WHY Victory Media?
Even before my first interview, I knew I wanted to be a part of #teamVictory. After my first interview it was confirmed, I just had to be a part of this team of creative, empowering and amazing women! From the first moment I spoke to each of them until this day they continue to radiate positivity and encouragement to myself and each other. Every day at work feels like hanging out with my best group of girlfriends. I’m so happy to be surrounded by such incredible ladies who push me to be my best and most creative self!

About me.
I come from a small town just on the outskirts of Ottawa, Ontario, where I’ve lived my whole life. I grew up loving anything that had to do with arts and crafts and being creative. I took art classes when I was young but it wasn’t until high school that I found my love for being creative in a digital form. I knew I wanted to pursue this creativity, so I attended Algonquin College and studied graphic design. After graduating, I wanted to continue my education and broaden my skill set so I completed the social media marketing program there as well.

A bit more about me… I’m a big TV fanatic and have watched more TV series than I’m proud to admit. I can bust out a good HIMYM, Friends or The Office joke any time it’s needed. I love to travel and explore new places and hope to one day visit every country in the world. I also love visiting different cafes and coffee shops across Ottawa, and am a big believer that no day is complete without a cup of coffee!

Funny story…
I admired Victory from afar via social media for quite some time, and thought about reaching out to someone on the team to try to get my foot in the door, but kept hesitating and never actually got around to it. One day, out of the blue, I received an email from Tara letting me know that Victory was looking to hire a graphic designer to cover a maternity leave. I had been recommended by a team member who I had gone to school with for graphic design (thanks Natalie!). It felt like a dream come true, and like all the stars had aligned for me. Fast forward and here I am on #teamVictory!
